Gregg's Blog - Switching Up Your Mindset
Now let’s just shelve that way of thinking for a moment. That way of thinking is obviously incredibly negative. There is a different way, there is a much better way. There is a far more positive mindset that is far more likely to help you succeed.
Consider your life for a moment, consider your health, the job you have, the money you earn, the weight you are, your fitness levels, your energy levels, your outlook and your dreams for the future. They are all wrapped up together in what is called "your life".
Get yourself into the mindset of personal growth and improvement. This is what we are aiming for, a better version of ourselves all round in all aspects so that we can fully enjoy our life and live our life to the full.
Constantly strive to be a better you. Why wouldn’t you do this? Why would you settle for anything else but this? All your habits should align with the vision of what you want from life. If they are not then you need to change things up. You owe it to yourself.
It is more than okay to slip up. I do it all the time, I go out, I drink too much and I regret it but I do it for less than I used to and on the times when I do drink too much, it’s nowhere near as much as it used to be.
It is perfectly understandable if you eat the occasional doughnut and slice of pizza or half a bottle of rosé wine and then regret it the next day. It just can’t happen every single day, but slip ups are part of the process of being a better you.
As long as you are constantly seeking to be a better you, a healthier you, a slimmer you, a more confident you, then the slip ups are okay because you are always going in the right direction.
Make that decision now to focus on improvement and personal growth. Don’t ever settle for second-best. You are worth so much more than sitting on the sofa in front of the television eating biscuits, cakes and takeaways. Be the person you really want to be. This is done by constantly considering your growth and development and constant reflection on where you want to be, where you’ve come from and all the decisions you are making on a daily basis moving you along the right road to where you want to be.
If your actions and decisions aren’t taking you to the place that you really want to be, where are they taking you?
