Look, we are never far away from what our American cousins are doing. Whether that be what we are watching, what we are listening to and now, unfortunately what we are eating.
American trends are picked up by the rest of the world. We in the UK are particularly close to them. For example, the USA right now are the biggest uses of takeaways in the world. Guess who’s second on that list? You’ve got it... it’s us.
I have just finished a history of human biology written by a professor at Harvard University and I’m gonna share with you now, some chilling statistics.
The USA, I’m sure you’ve already realised, is experiencing obesity on an epic level. This is obviously through diet choices and a general lack of activity.
The consequences of these food choices and the weight gain that goes with it are a little bit scary. There are now incredibly high rates of type two diabetes and ever increasing rates of heart disease.
This is particularly worrying for us over here in the UK because exactly the same thing is happening to us. Increased eating of snacks, increased purchases of takeaways and, of course ever bigger consumption of ultra processed food.
The bottom line is this and I find it disturbing... According to the Harvard professor that wrote the book, this generation of Americans will be the first in modern history to not live as long as their parents!
Please just pause and let this sink in. The food choices being made by the American public is resulting in shorter lives!
We can reverse this trend, you should I advise, look after yourself well. Turn your back on this crap food and start eating a healthy balanced diet. We have everything you need.
